Sunday Morning Worship 9:30 am
When you join us on Sunday morning, you’ll encounter friendly faces waiting to welcome you!. Feel free to walk around the church, and to visit with us. We'll be happy to show you where the sanctuary, nursery, toddler room, and restrooms are located. Our goal is to help you find your way at WiLLOWWOOD Church so you can experience God and His message for you.
Sunday School and small group Bible studies have been temporarily paused due to the current Covid-19 pandemic. We will have classes available for children, teens, college & career, and adults when it is safe for us to resume.
WiLLOWWOOD Church is built around serving families and being God's family. If you are looking for a place to belong... a place where God's love is evident... a place where you can make a difference... then WiLLOWWOOD Church is your new church home!
Our services are designed to help people make authentic connections with God. Our desire is for every person who attends our church to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Our music is a blend of the majestic hymns of the church and current worship music.
Taylor Park Church of the Nazarene had a humble beginning. A small group of believers began worshipping together in a small, abandoned grocery store on South Elm Street in 1959.
Within a few months, the church purchased two lots at the corner of McCormick and Willowwood --- an area on the underdeveloped, southern edge of the city. In 1967, Reverend Bruce Chamberlain began a term of pastoral service that would span thirty-four years and see the church grow and become firmly established.
In 1967, the church purchased two adjoining lots and erected a two-story education building with paved parking.
In 1980, the church enlarged and remodeled the sanctuary to accommodate the growing congregation.
In 2010, Taylor Park traded properties with the City of Denton Fraternity of Police--which was located directly across the street from each other. Under the leadership of the Rev. Mark Ramsey, the current church building was constructed. The church board elected to change the church name to WiLLOWWOOD Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Ramsey had a seventeen year vibrant ministry at Taylor Park/WiLLOWWOOD Church until he felt called to leave.
We now sit under the leadership of Pastor Ken Tesch. We believe God is making WiLLOWWOOD Church into a lighthouse that shows God's love to our community and our world. We are excited about the future God is creating as we continue to grow together.
Knowing Christ... Growing in Christ... Serving Christ...
